A simple, bold shot.

This is an unusual angle (which is fine by me), but I think it would have benefitted by having more detail in the bird itself. A little more in the way of colours and feather detail perhaps ?

B&W is perfect for this, and the branch exiting in the bottom left corner forms a delightful little perch for her as it arches gently across the picture.

What a wonderful Squirrel !!

The colour palette on this is magnificently Autumnal, and he is given a perfect sense of scale and proportion by the tree trunk.

There is also a delightful amount of texture in this shot - from the soft fur of the squirrel, to the gnarled old wood on the tree, and the soft shapes of the woods and leaves in the background . .

(This isn't a German Squirrel by any chance is it ? )

I would love to see this on the front page.

Nice straight forward capture of an everyday bird that we can all too easily take foregranted.

If it had not been for his friend I would have cropped it at the 'V' just under his feet and made it a square crop with him as the star. On the other hand I quite like the diagonal they form across the screen, and having two of them does give a greater feeling of depth . .
