Hotelby MelethiaComment: Love the many compositional elements in this . .
The receding 'S' shaped curve, the counterplay between the geometry of the curve and the vertical uprights, the colours, the wonderful looking old couple, the textures in the leaves, the cobbles, the buildings etc etc
So much crammed in on so many levels. |

Caughtby MelethiaComment: Always such great expressions at this bench !
The woman on the end has spotted you though - so much for your career in espionage . . |

With pigeonsby MelethiaComment: Those must be pretty mean German Street Pigeons - you notice how everyone is giving them a wide birth ?

Cute guyby MelethiaComment: Nice composition and good enigmatic gaze from him - tell me he is reading poetry or something deep and meaningful - and not the local bus timetable :- ) |

sinking... by IreneMComment: Irene - another stunning shot.
The challenge was 'money' and I can clearly see money in the shot - so whatever else is or isn't there this fit's the challenge for me - and certainly can't be faulted on either the technicals or your trademark water droplet :- )
Congrats on the Blue. |

The tourist and the localsby MelethiaComment: Another shot rich in textures, tensions and geometry.
Nice diagonal cutting through the cobbles leading us from the near couple to the far tourist. Two sets of people both literally and metaphorically wiht their backs to each other - one set going about everyday life, looking grumpy and apprently not taking in their ornate surroundings while the tourist is so fascinated with the surroundings that she apparently hasn't noticed the people.
You have columns, pillars, lamp stands, cobbles, spokes radiating out (in the cobbles) from the central lampstand. A picture full of detail that benefits from people pausing to take in the richness of the image.
The fianl touch for me would have been if you could have tweaked the lighting to get it a little more like your 'Strasbourg Tourists shot' and really drag the textures out. |
