Sea Gull 3.jpgby TerComment: It is a Greater Black Backed Gull ( Larus marinus)- and from the red on the beak it also looks like it has young to feed.
The red spot grows noticably larger and brighter when it has young. The youngsters then peck at it as a stimulous for the mother to regurgitate food for them. Message edited by author 2009-02-05 02:34:59. |
