nice idea and I like the PoV - it just lacks a little 'wow'.

Although you have chosen a very shallow DoF I think including the nose may have been better, and a catchlight in the eyes would have really lifted this.

To squeezer a little more out of this composition having them either both looking at the camera - or both at each other would have been good - but hey - I took a pet portrait myself - I know what it's like trying to get a pet to look where you want it too :- )
