301_2966.jpgby salmiakkiComment: Sarah - this is a tremendous shot - the processing and tonality going from the whites of the boat to the blacks of the rocks and frame, the lightness of the sand and the sunlight dancing on the water, the angle of the shoreline cutting through the picture chopping it into the two halves of land and sea with the boat bridging the divide both literally and metaphorically. The oar on the boat mimicking the angle of the shore line. The tension of opposites with sand on the left, rocks on the right, land at the bottom , sea at the top . .
Heck - you even look to have hit the rule of thirds sweetspot with the positioning of the boat - just up from the bottom, and just in from the left. And do you know I think I even like the writing on the boat . . it doesn't exactly roll of my tongue . . but on the other hand it's back to contrasts. Here is a beautifully, almost delicately shaped boat with gentle feminine lines - and huge solid dark writing across it in a straight unsympathetic font, almost like the branding and ownership of this delicate wild animal, a statement of 'This is mine' without any empathy to the object of it's environment.
What's not to like ? This is up with the very best. |

Off to workby cogeroxComment: Hey Roger - that is one cool shot !
Great crop with the upper wings effectively forming the top border and the plane filling the frame from right to left. Also with the bright colours and snarling mouth it is almost like you are approaching a big cat and it's handler from behind . . at a safe distance.
Really nice. |

Day-6-slice-of-life.jpgby joynimComment: Love the processing on this - very cool.
Is it just me - or does the cat look slightly drunk ?
Maybe it's just me - it's been a long week . .
