Week 1: Snow Wagonby jasonlpriceComment: This gets to me: childhood, the express wagon, snow late in the day already turning disappointingly wet, the house in the back but remote from whatever activity in the snow or with the wagon... |

Whitby Abbeyby SaraRComment: A wonderful way to look at the abbey and I suspect it would be more wonderful at larger resolution. |

Drive-In Moviesby HipychikComment: Your processing works perfectly in - or suits - every part of this image. It is like the old photos, yes, but I think it is better or more than that: I'm thinking art more than old photo. |

Afternoon Lightby AliciaComment: Hair, face and expression are all so minimally spotlighted/celebrated by your treatment. Yes, there are a few distractions, but this is a very fresh way of dealing with portraiture/the moment. |

Week 5by muz64Comment: This is a really difficult shot to get: here I find the detail vying with the powerful abstract shapes plus the leading lines that put depth, almost another dimension, into play. One thing that may be skewing it is the wide angle which puts the verticals in the forefront aslant, while the distant cameo sits purring smugly and righteously; I wonder if the viewer wouldn't prefer to be smug and righteous. |

Assessmentby GermaineComment: In addition to getting a splendid almost ironical moment, this picture is chock full of interesting features and goings on: main event of 2 people framed by 2 tree trunks, palm and eucalyptus, and m'sieur w. real book framed by arch beyond which are further benches and sitters/watchers and shorter palms and then you have the slender tree with 2 almost twining upper main branches dividing the 2 heads of 2 strolling companions just at the tree crotch. (Fence railing also at crotch levels of main protaganists - sorry, didn't intend to go there, it was the trees...) Some coffee shop, I say. |

Week 02 - Fog.jpgby KenComment: Not going to read the other comments yet. Going to try to find my own words for this. The black is black, but not so black. That's all I can think.
(Thanks for including details; would also like to know where in the zoom range. Also for sharing with us and foregoing the challenge).
Edit:Hajeka's comment, "The light is getting brighter and brighter when I look longer to this photo," is very nearly the same as mine. Message edited by author 2008-02-15 03:35:00. |
