The Rare Black Trillium in Bloomby talmyComment: Quite wonderful use of the colours and light reversal in a negative image; the effect is lyrical, as if we can see the spirits of the leaves. Edit to add thanks for the original and all your steps. Message edited by author 2008-04-23 02:04:42. |

PSApril21 King of the walkby tnunComment: Ah, thank you pixelpig: "street photography" makes it all work. The power of words. And robinssong, yes, that was the case - people park their dogs there all the time, and this one was a real sweetie, no issues at all. |

PSApril21 King of the walkby tnunComment: Thank you for your thoughtful comments. The leash and pole are things I worried about, but not the sign, so I have something to think about. First concern was to get the pole and the end of the building (shot at the wide end) appearing vertical, but I thought the sign contributed to the into the distance aspect. Second concern to lighten the head which was in shadow without blowing out the rest of the photo. (No closer head shots - not my dog, but I still want to get his/her eyes). |

Day 1 P&S by MelonMusketeerComment: You did well with the lighting, and I like the way the colour leaps off the edges of the upper slightly OOF petals. |

The Brahmas #1 P&Sby robinssongComment: Love the light, the animals and that they are so paired. (It may be unimaginative of me to suggest you crop out the sky, even down to just above the fence - I think there is enough going on in the cows and that they are not perfectly symmetric to keep it real). |

Day 1: Nettle-eye Viewby bobonacusComment: Very much like the contrast between the rich greeny green of the nettle and the almost desaturated mossy limey greens of the background. (And the blue greens of the daffy strappy leaves, maybe). And I think you have a good idea in the in-your-face (ouch!) of the nettles backgrounded by the definition of the trees. However I agree with most comments that it could do with some realignment. |

Wk_14_B&W_Storm Passingby twmaxComment: Stiger may have something there about the contrast, though the deep blacks always appeal to me. But the scene and the drama of light and cloud are very strong. |
