Yes, it would be very fine in focus. Hard to do both the laser and the camera at the same time I bet. I suppose you've already tried pre-focusing as well as successive shots. Anyway a very handsomely patterned cat is delivered in this image.

Didn't do anything beyond Basic Ed. I've wondered if that is a break in the leaves or an effect of the Irfanview USM.

I dunno. Looks like a loaf of bread burnt on the top trying to walk away. (My vision is apparently limited even having seen the shoehorn both shoehorning and rejected).
