Wood St. 1:08 PMby bvyComment: Black and white waistlines! Vintage bvy. This is the kind of shot that wins prizes in venues way beyond dpc.
And we need more of this kind of discussion. |

dogkontdp.jpgby IraklisComment: You need more comments on one. The dog is definitely throwing city life into a weird or positively profound perspective. |

watermelon girlby LevTComment: How can a young woman appear to be so beautiful and have such eloquent grace chomping on a water melon wedge and seen from behind? I could say lots of nice things about the colour, the DOF, the chief passer by, the general en passant, but it is the young woman. The hair elastic echoing the metal ring and colour in her overalls/dress is a nice touch. |

Golden Gate from Fort Bakerby Bear_MusicComment: First off, this is an amazing perspective, packing in a lot and keeping it all in balance. Your use of the light for the broody swirls of clouds and the glinty texture of the water together with the very dark darks for the rock and bridge masses shows us what the eye normally wouldn't be able to take in all at one glance, and this is what makes it a challenging picture to view. As well, the muted background of the cityscape is not what one expects to see at the top of your water ess. And portrait mode is challenging for finding a place for the eye to rest. I happen to like stuff that challenges me, that I don't "get" right off the bat. AND it really needs a bigger size. |

dogkontdp.jpgby IraklisComment: Good heavens, Iraklis, where do you get these dogs? I imagine you have a whole kennel and each day send them out with instructions...
A most improbable triad, though it is the dog setting the scene and throwing it all into a disconnect perspective. I could go blah blah about the worn stonework, the shiny shoes (metallic?) leading to the shiny motorcycle, the light falling just right (or clever pp), but it is really the dog, that he is just there and just exactly how he is just there. (I love it). |

American Gothic (Idaho Version)by drydocComment: Very scary. I think I liked you better when you just went around and decorated the Hostas with your magic marker. (Didn't your doctor take away all your sharp instruments?) It is, however, a very nice exposure.
Oh shucks, you got one of the first yohorns. I'm just jealous. T Message edited by author 2008-11-08 04:07:03. |

Queen Streetby Martini_BeachComment: And yes, the colour and composition are stunning. Much more going on than you point out in your notes. |
