American Bison - No Longer Endangeredby debitiptonComment: Great story and photo. I would have given you a 10 if the trees hadn't been there (a personal aesthetic thing with me).....I know that is nitpicking....but it is a very strong 9 for me. You really nailed the exposure with all that bright light, great job. |

as good as it getsby hopperComment: Perfect 10. I love the mood of this photo; created by the great lighting and angles. Technically this doesn't meet the challenge because the life depicted by this photo is much much better than good...but I'll give you a 10 anyway. |

Something good...by failedguidedogComment: I think if the whole dandelion was in focus it would have fit my taste better. I love the idea of making a good wish...takes me back to my childhood when I used to blow those things and make wishes. Thanks. |

Setting Colorsby MadukesComment: There is nothing to capture my eye, no focal point. The colors are nice, but to stand on their own as an abstract I think patterns would have had to been more evident or defined or more contrast perhaps. |

On a Hot Tick Wallby babaknsComment: Great composition. I love all those angles. Also great use of shallow DOF and I think you nailed the exact right amount of it. 9 |

Winter Streamby ZoomdakComment: I really wanted to try a shallow dof landscape myself, but never could find an appropriate subject. Yours works better than any of mine did, but it still leaves me wanting to see that mountain! Perhaps if the rocks were a little brighter (but then the sky would be blown)...or if there was 1 main thing to focus on like a leaf or flower....+ 2 for your attemp 7 total. Good luck. |

California Hummingby ShutterHackComment: Great capture. I wished there was more room for the bird to peer into...like if the hummingbird was set off to the left of the photo. Also, I think a little more depth (or at least not front focused quite so much) would have put the entire hummingbird in focus, which I think would have worked better for me. I realize the challege was shallow DOF and that the hummer's eye and head are fine so it does work...7 |
