escargot~zenby haydawlinComment: Very beautiful! 10
I really don't know why I say this is beautiful...I guess the lighting is, but the subject is kinda homely. Nevertheless you have shown it's best side. |

Curves n Colorsby sekarmalathyComment: Very simple and elegant..I love the flat lighting with no highlights, choice of colors and non uniform arrangement. 10 |

Colorful still lifeby ladpupmoeComment: Nice arrangement but I think it would have been even nicer had you created a traditional s curve with the bannana and flowers...(instead of the flowers all being vertical). The lighting is OK, but a little harsh. If you could soften the light some with a diffuser like a sheet or bounce it off of a wall it would have been a little less harsh. The background is what is killing the photo for me however (I'm sure your hearing that already)...the colors just don't seem in harmony.... I am giving you extra credit for creating a traditional still life though for an overall score of 6. |

Rice and Curryby HungaroComment: I love the harmony of both color and subject...I like the fact that you balanced it out with the new potatoes on left and right side too. I'm not sure the overhead perspective is to my liking though as it makes everything look "flat". Perhaps a little less straight on perspective would have been better? Great lighting..... |

untitledby Bear_MusicComment: Interesting composition and I like all those leading lines and patterns. I wished the green filled the whole photo (like perhaps cropping off the whole left side), and I don't like the blown tips of the plant on the left. Nice DOF and lighting..... |

Purple Flowerby sh0rtyComment: good compostion, great control of DOF to get the needed parts in focus and supporting features OOF. Bright yellows really draw your eye in....My only complaint is the black outline on some of the petals...maybe over sharpened? 7 |

Keysby crisfComment: Nice perspective. I like the patterns and "abstractness", but I think I would have liked it even more with greater DOF. The pattern would have been even stronger. |

Spot the Ant!by ingridblueComment: This could have been really great with more diffused light...the blown specular highlights are just too much for me. If you could have created a softbox or put a sheet in front of the light I think those highlights would have been less harsh and transparent and the lighting would have been better. Just my opinion of course. I love the composition and subject. 7 |

Birth of Lifeby cujeeComment: It is a nice composition and color scheme but the softness is a little to much for me...I would have like to seen more texture in the bottom of the egg and petals. It is a still life so you started on a higher scale .... 7 |

Flower by steveh552Comment: I think on DPC a photo of a flower has to be spectacular to do well...there are too many little things in your photo that will bring down your score I'm afraid. Like the main subject blending in with the background petals, right bottom corner distraction and distractions on the left. Typically with a still life you can control all of those distractions by moving the flower around. Speaking of which I'm sure some are voting low because they feel this doesn't meet the qualifications of a still life. With all that being said, I like this photo and the composition and give it a 6. I just wanted to say some things because I figured your score was suffering and I wanted to perhaps help you understand why. |
