look to the lightby markdonComment: This is gorgeous! A slight more saturation might give this a little more life. (Pun intended). It’s just a little flat for my taste, but I love the composition. 9 from me. |

pepsiby bvlindalouComment: I like this one a lot! I love the rustic colors and the angle works well with the long and narrow crop. I wonder how many viewers actually noticed the bottle in the foreground outside of the border. Nice touch. High marks from me. |

Louisiana Nessieby sherComment: Hahahah! This made me laugh tonight. I was browsing through your portfolio and noticed the folder named simply "Ugh" Hahahah.
Every time I take a stroll through your stuff I find things I've never seen before.

The Generalby jmsetzlerComment: I am seeing this image for the first time tonight. I don’t spend as much time browsing the photos here as I once did but it is a pleasant surprise to stumble upon this hidden gem .
I didn’t vote on this challenge, but I would have placed this in my 10’s. The photo captured my interest instantly. The title actually made me want to study every detail of his face to see what time has done to the General. After reading your comments I can understand why you might have selected this as a “best” photo. It’s an excellent portrait and it carries the visual emotion that is so hard to capture in a photograph of a stranger.
Your comments didn’t include any information on his service record and I’m left wondering if the title was selected because it fit so well, or if he is indeed a General. Either way, inspiring work. Message edited by author 2007-03-15 04:11:55. |

Generations by whiteroomComment: This is superb! The tones are warm and rich. The textures utilize the full gamut of smooth and texture without going overboard. The expressions and movement are natural. This is one of my favorite entries in the challenge. It would be difficult to find fault with an image of this caliper. I wouldn't change a thing. 10 from me. |

"We've come for your liver."by sherComment: This is an interesting take on the challenge topic. I’m always glad to see the different creative interpretations. The challenge description calls for a personification and goes on to say it shows human characteristics or evokes a human feeling. I hope that definition of personification doesn’t cause you to lose points from some of the voters.
From Websters: Personification = A divinity or imaginary being representing a thing or abstraction.
I actually do take the time to look up the alternate meanings of challenge topics. I would hate to drop someone’s score because of my own ignorance.
I really like the soft green coloring to this one and the unusual subject. A very clean and bold entry. It takes a great eye to see beauty in the ordinary things. Well done! High marks from me. |
