Some of the NOAA websites have photo galleries to which people contribute interesting pictures of atmospheric phenomena. Here's a link to the Portland office, where I submitted a couple of pictures I'd taken up there.

You should put that up as a print. Then submit it to some other sites with a link-back to the print page ... Despite my somewhat flippant remarks in the associated thread, this is a great capture -- go ahead and "finish" it.

WOW! that's awesome! i think it would have done well in the extraordinary challenge and it really does look like something that would hide an alien invasion. very cool!

it really does look as though the cloud is hovering over the landscape waiting.............. extraordinary! The original was excellent, this is even better :D

why does the cloud look like it's houvering few metres from the ground? The cloud looks obese and lost 8-) I have never seen anything like that 8-) :-0

Price of Freedom was...3? Can't distinguish what this has to do with 3. 3 people in the foreground? 4 sets of 3 pillars? 8 sets of 3 fountains? I do like this as a photo. Has great symmetry in the background, and some people interest in the foreground. Can't tell if the horizon line is truly off, but seems to go uphill a bit toward the right

yep three are there. makes me hungry. the exsposure is off. too bright in some areas, dark on others. Focus is a little shallow...needs to be on the subject. Seems to be on the grill.

Very dreamy looking apearance. It has been said to you a million times already, so I will forget the "looks like..." comment. Like the colors and blur. The editing takes a little away from the "real" photo, but still an 8.

By far my fav in the challenge. I just like the look of it, even though I think that the white is overwhelming in a few places and people will say that the lens distortion is annoying, but I think it adds to the shot. Great!
