Approaching April Showersby quiet_observationComment: Sometimes I struggle with trying to get emphasis on the beauty of clouds while trying to get everything else to stand out in the pic too. I do love the pretty yellow flowers near the tree. Have you tried this in black and white? I only ask because it seems like you wanted to put more emphasis on the sky and I am wondering if the black and white would help pull the clouds out. Overall, this does capture a lot of the essence of spring! |

Flag Day 8by KatmystiryComment: This is great. Love the contrasts and the angle of the flag. The sunlight shining on the flag is wonderful as well. |

Gothicby jackal9Comment: Um can you do a pictorial book for dummies on the processing you did? lol. I am gonna have to print this out and go thru it step by step - I'm a poor reader, what can I say?
Love the mood you created with the pic. You've added drama and depth with your processing. Like it! |

Beyondby noranekoComment: Love the contrast of the very white sand against the dark sky. Love the clouds too. It's awesome that you did not lose the detail in the white - I'm sure I would have blown out that area lol. |

A Thorn Among The Flowersby smardazComment: I understand about getting hammered in free studies but I don't limit myself to just that - it happens in other challenges as well. :p
I didn't look at the free study pics and I will say that this would have caught my eye because your desat choice is unusual here. I would have looked at this as you were trying to emphasize his gloomy mood amongst the pretty setting. But you know, we as people like to see human beings in color so to have a child there in black and white comes out as odd.
If you have not done it yet in the B/W Challenge (I'm only on page 28 out of 39 lol), I think it would be interesting to see what kind of reaction you would get if the whole pic were in black and white. I don't know if it would look better or not, but just an idea for you. |

Day Eight: Ozark Rileyby Art RoflmaoComment: I have nothing witty and clever to say other than the poor kid is going to look back at these pics some day and wonder what was wrong with what he was wearing in the first place. Your photoshop skills are amazing!
I love that devilish little smirk and stare. What a cutey! |

Day 8.jpgby edmengComment: This is cool. In a couple of places the shadows look like people. Very mysterious! Love the sky. |

Go Awayby BenComment: This is cool. I like the vignette and the clarity of the bird and the fence. I like that the background is blurred enough to separate itself from the main subject, but at the same time you can still tell what it is. |

Day 9 - Blossomby jonfrommkComment: These are pretty flowers. Was the day kind of overcast? Like everyone else said, I'd like to see more brightness on the flowers to make them stand apart from the rest of the pic. |
