I like the idea that you going with the perspective you used. Unfortunately it looks like a branch is scratching his forehead lol. I don't think I totally understand the image you were trying to convey but what I do like seeing is the area surrounding the statue. It looks like a very calm and serene place for a statue like this.

That spooky looking eye really jumps out at ya. I can see the detail in the feathers below the head but since my attention is drawn to the eye, I'd like to have seen a little more focus on the head. I do love the diagonal you created with the beak.
