I get why you have included so much background - part of your story, but I find that the white shape - a bridge maybe? - fights for attention. I would probably have scored higher if it was an 8x10 crop, cropped at the top of the highest reed. 6.

What a delightful little feature to have in your garden! I rather wish that the leaf of the fern wasn't up quite so very tight to the left hand edge, and I do feel that the bright fronds of foliage in the top right pull the eye too much, but none the less a pleasing photo. 6.

Back for another visit - I think this is my favourite of the challenge. Lots of reasons why it could be voted down - a lack of critical sharpness, the lack of eye contact with the viewer, a non-traditional balance to the composition - but these are all things that in this instance enhance the image. I find it immensely engaging, whilst quite challenging.
