chess timingby whiterookComment: I think I recognise the stable... The composition is sound, and the focus is fine. There is still a real haziness to the photo, as though the lens has misted up - I guess it's not something as straightforward as the lens needing a clean? Get this issue cracked, and it will make such a difference to the quality of your photos. |

Marchingby jonshephardComment: Yorkshire? Not sure you could really call hill sheep 'wildlife', but I do like the photo. |

Predatorby mia67Comment: As a photo this is superb. As an example of 'wildlife photography' it would be completely and utterly amazing. I am not sure, 'though - I am reasonably confident that this was taken in a zoo, which in my view would go against my understanding of the intent of the challenge. That said, I decided at the outset I would mark all photographs as if they were taken in the wild - I would absolutely hate to mark down a photo that I later discovered was a true wildlife shot. |

Hard Weather Compromiseby raishComment: This is such an unusual photograph that I decided to return to it to vote rather than voting on first viewing. Capturing the throng of mallards in this way is something that would never have ocurred to me, but it really does work; there is such a sense of movement, almost frenzy. It might have been worth cloning out (assuming it would be legal in adv ed rules)the two pieces of grain on the back of the central duck. |

Flamingoby rkligmanComment: I have never seen a flamingo close too - I did see some in a zoo when I was a child, but in an enclosure and so at some distance. From a European perspective it seems so bizarre to be able to come across a bird as exoctic as this.
This is a wonderful portrait, with incredible detail revealed in the plumage and in the beak, as well as wonderfully rich and vibrant colours. |
