Natural Sunlightby harrrenComment: The purplish colour caste around the hair is a bit of a shame, as it does detract from the photo. Personally, I would prefer a less centred composition. |

Hold meby High on energyComment: Certainly a refreshingly different take on the challenge. My initial reaction is yes, I like it. There is something vulnerable, almost frightened about the expression. I am less sure about the perspective enlarged, upstretched hands; whilst they do lead the viewer in to the portrait, and are an essential part of the composition, I feel that they are a bit too prominent. All in all, good work. |

Grandpaby NuserComment: He doesn't look old enough to be a Grandpa! Good exposure, composition and presentation. I do wonder if less bright light would have meant that your model would have squinted less - that said,it is the lined face that makes the model, and the photograph, interesting. |

Hentaby unknowndeathComment: This doesn't appeal to me at all. Little thought seems to have been given to the background, with the white of the dog's coat merging in to the white of the duvet (?) - it may have been better to try and find some dark clothe to make a backdrop which would show the dog off better. |

goodmorning hobbesby phreakComment: The light seems very harsh, although surprisingly there aren't any shadows - very confusing! Focus is soft, with little detail in terms of texture preserved. |

Boy in a Treeby maynerd12Comment: Good use of natural light and attractive lights in the eyes; strong diagonal composition and tight framing are good. The wistful look is appealing, although the pose does look rather too staged. That said, it is a lovely portrait. |

Thoughtfulby levyj413Comment: Pleasing portrait of a pretty girl. The subdued colour palette suits the mood well. My only gripe is that I am not altogether comfortable with the composition for the age of the child - the perspective doesn't allow enough attention on her face. |

A complexion of Sun and shadesby HighNoonerComment: Good play of light and well exposed. A model with an interesting face - makes for a good portrait that holds my attention. Looks like he may be suffering from a bit of hay-fever - the rather red eyes are slightly disconcerting, but at the same time add to the rugged out door look and make the photo interesting. |

Sam: beyond laborby shapesfit2Comment: Sam looks as though he would make a good model, and you have obviously made him feel at ease. For the next time, pay greater attention to what is behind your subject - sadly, those lights really are a great distraction. |

A Girl and Her Horseby Donna21Comment: The light here looks very harsh and unflattering. A nice moment captured, but I don't think the sepia treatment or the border add anything. |
