Pedestrianby MelethiaComment: This is superb - the strong dynamic diagonal composition is what first impresses, and then the placement of the 'actors' within the frame, which could not be bettered if you had stage managed it! The lines leading the eye around the frame mean that the viewer lingers, discovering more and more visual treats. I love the ambiguity of the title - pedestrian as a noun or as an adjective? For me, the title concentrates my mind on the individual crossing the road - what intrigues me is his head-bowed shadow. So much to see and enjoy - one for my favourites, to return to again and again. |

Stair Study by SeanachaiComment: Superbly observed. I would be interested to see a version with a little more contrast in the mono conversion (but I may still prefer this one...), nonetheless, a 10 from me. |

Saturdayby pineappleComment: Perfect for the challenge, and a wonderful photo in its own right. In my personal top three. |

The Line Worldby cujeeComment: A very strong image, with good use of the single pedestrian in the composition. I do wonder if you might have been better cropping at the apex of the window, thus reducing the slightly weaker exposed area at the top of the frame? |

Ready To Goby KaeComment: I have been saving this for the end. I really, really like the photo - and in a Free Study would probably have given it a vote of 7 or 8. There is a huge sense of narrative here, not just in the scene as presented, where, who, why, but also a narrative in the ambiguous intent of the photographer, almost as though the photographer is hinting at life's bigger picture. i am not being particular articulate here, but this photo leaves an undefinable, but strong impression on me.
However, and here is the thorn, the connection to the challenge is not readily apparant to me. Yes, there is some pattern in the scene - the paving, the parked cars, the balance of the couple under the umbrella with the pedestrians at the end of the view - but it just doesn't quite cut it for me (and I readily admit I may be missing your intent) in the challenge to which it has been entered. |

Diagonal Linesby mfzComment: A very bold and graphic representation of pattern. The panning is superb! |

Spring Patternby negativeComment: I like this very much, the colours are wonderful, and the green provides the perfect foil for the red of the leaves. I was initially drawn to the patten provided by the arrangement, and to the serated edges of the individual leaves, but I now also see the sub-pattern of the fine veins. A very pleasing photo - all the better or its subtlety. |
