I absolutely love this - the colour palette is gorgeous, and just so right for the shapes. Definitely my favourite of your choices, but doubt it would have scored better than the one you went for.

This was my top pic of the challenge - dynamic, alive, aesthetically pleasing, and thoroughly interesting. Shame not to see it on the DPC front page, but at least you now have a PB.

What's with the 13 votes of 1 and 2? Yes, the photo has some technical issues, most noticeably noise, and compositionally I might have preferred a background thrown a bit more out of focus (curious - you shot this with the 70-200 2.8 - going for a bigger aperture than 5.6 would have allowed you a lower film speed, reduced noise and thrown the background very slightly oof). But that aside, this screams country life - and is one of the very few in the challenge that does! The photo is thoroughly interesting, and I thought would up there at least in the top 15.

I like the over-all feel of this photo, especially the black and white conversion, and the shallow depth of field which really adds to the ambience. Wish there was a bit more textural detail in the wood - probably is when viewed larger!
