Mallard

An interesting portrait of this mallard; I appreciate the different take on it. The light does seem as though it was a little on the bright side, but you have controlled the exposure well, and there is lots of detail, both of texture and colour. It is such a shame that the shadow in the bottom left is there, but at least it isn't masking the detail.

This doesn't seem to be a wildlife photo in the generally accepted sense - the fox has no wariness at all, which does make me wonder if it is captive or has been hand-reared. However, the focus and dof are spot on - to have both ears, eyes and snout in focus, but the background soft is ideal. Light is a tad harsh, but overall a good portrait. In any event, I have tended to give higher marks to photos that show a bit of the animals natural habitat, or of its behaviour.

Very nice! Such an interesting looking bird - it must be so exciting to see birds like this in the wild (I guess most of us feel like this about foreign species!). The prized lunch (yuggh....) lifts this above many other bird portraits. You do seem to have lost some detail in the plumage - maybe a bit too much noise-reduction?

Really in the wild? I find it hard to believe, tbh as it has a number of hallmarks of a zoo shot. That said, I will have to take it in good faith and presume it was, perhaps taken on safari. Compositionally I prefer the subject less centered, particularly in this case where the tiger is looking to the right - it makes the space to its left seem a bit redundant. A tad over-exposed, as all detail seems to have been lost in the white on the left leg. Focus and dof are spot on, wit the eye crisp, and also with a catch-light.
