Pretty amazing details considering the camera employed here. I love the light of the valley below the mountains. I just think that the light of the sun in the clouds seems to overwhelm the image a bit and created a bit of a feeling of 'two images in one'.

Steve - an artistic effort in the rural challenge. I think the shot has a lot of potential, from the deep contrast between the black mailbox and the bright white letters, to the red flag up telling us there is some anticipation to the shot, to the flatness of the ground speaking rural farming. But I wonder about the choice of colors and hues in the sky - it seems very muted. Also, I wonder if a wider shot with the mailbox a bit over to the left and smaller on screen would have provided more of a feel of open space. In addition, by placing the box a bit to the left, you may have been able to cover the houses up on the left of the image and made this feel even more rural.

A cool title for a cool photo. I haven't seen crop dusters in a long time.

I think the shot has a lot of potential, but may have suffered from a couple of minor issues.
1) the cropduster is pointed away as if it was captured in passing rather than on purpose - DPC voters love effort and over the top in your face shots
2) the sky is a bit blotchy, likely due to the resizing artifacts
3) I think the light on the crops is excellent but it seems that the darkness of the leaves on the trees swollowed up the light and gave the image a darker than intended feel

The light here and composition are outstanding. I really thought this would be a ribbon winner. Great stuff
