a very interesting take on composition - i can see the reason to fill the frame as much as possible with the non-horizontal horizon - i like the lovely lighting and colors - but that perspective makes me a bit dizzy!

the spindles of the branches, the turn of the head, the bright colors of the feathers - very cool interaction of shapes - i am just not sure about the choice of crop - the bit of growth in the top left is slightly distracting

the intensity of sunrises on Haleakala are some of the most amazing sights in the world

the lack of details in the clouds, the lack of ground in the foreground to anchor the shot, and the blown out sunlit area in the upper right take away from the overall effect of the image

P.S. I got your PM. On the good side, i like the yellows and oranges you captured and think it conveys a nice sense of warmth. (still give it a 5)

mirror lake and RMNP are two of my absolute favorites

i think you did a nice job of composition with the mountain rising up to the upper right - but the softness of the focus, the strange halo of the trees at the top and the lack of central focal point don't work as well as I think it could
