A quiet and gentle image - realistic, worn, and abandoned - nicely composed with excellent details throughout. This is one of those images that gets completely lost among the bright and shiny, the overt colors and in your face animal shots - but this has so much room for us to meander, so much earthy appeal of the rural landscape. Very nice work Karen.

Judy- Since you are one of the prime reasons I began to leave comments, I decided to find your last entry and leave my 9000th comment. Your comments are always a joy to read, thoughtful, helpful, providing both critique and encouragement.

I quite like this little poppy shot. Elements I espeically like are the edges being so sharp, the colors and petals soft and delicate, and the flower almost wilting as if the black is pulling their life away. Too subtle to score well, but lovely all the way.

I just wonder in this case whether the centered placement of the couple and the fact that the woman's face is turned away cost you a bit of on the score. The far left side of the image does not seem to provide as much of the 'good stuff' that the couple and the right provide. But then again...what do I know...you're the pro!

It is an interesting observations that Deb makes. I saw the pixelation on one computer/monitor and not another...very strange stuff....

This is a GREAT image - the close crop, the head on flight, the kinetic feel, and the complementary colors of the bird and the background to emphasize the stealth-like qualities of this magnificant bird.

The details and energy of the image are outstanding, the expression is classic, and the delivery from a technical point of view is flawless.
