How Many Patterns?by JuliBocComment: Julianne,
Is it just me, or is the pattern in that gate eerily similar to the pattern in the window I entered? Your photo is without doubt a lot stronger, though, and I'm surprised it didn't garner at least a 5.5. I'm trying to figure out why the relatively low score, and can only think it is due to voters looking for more repetition in pattern (and a slightly blown sky). I really like this, think it has good composition, and I like the business. Just goes to show you can't please 'em all, right? 7 from me. Message edited by author 2007-01-03 16:54:19. |

Arizona mountain lionsby WinkComment: I like the lighting on these a lot, and think you have a nice composition here. Did you take this at the Desert Museum by any chance? I visited Tuscon last year and could have spent days there. |

Chanukah Lightsby levyj413Comment: Jeff,
This is a beautiful, evocative photo. I really love the colors in the candles, and think you did a very good job with composition (can be pretty difficult with this type of photo, I think). I have no idea how to do it myself, but IMO this would be even stronger with more color showing in the flames - they look a bit blown.
That aside, I think you've got a winner here in a different challenge. I also think this would sell well among both Jewish and non-Jewish audience.
BTW - I enjoyed reading about Chanukah, above. Thanks for sharing your traditions! |

They don't make them like they used toby bmartuchComment: Bob,
Great shot and look at that strong finish! Congrats! I think you chose an interesting perspective on this shot and the patterns over each window combined with the overall pattern are very strong. Nice rich colors, too. Great job! |

Dangerous Patternby KelliComment: I like the perspective on this a lot, and the colors are rich and pattern lovely. I think a tighter crop might have bumped you even higher, as the detailed rock takes focus off snake. |

Computer Programmerby PhotologistComment: I agree with juliboc that this was underrated. Thought it would finish above 6.5 and possibly in top 10. One of most creative entries in challenge, and great composition. |
