Yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choiceby raishComment: Raish, is this a self-portrait? This is definitely the better photo technically of the two, but I have to say I miss the cat on the shoulder :-) That being said, I think the lighting is quite nice here, especially on the face (brings out features without any harsh shadows or blown whites). I might consider a couple minor things: use a clone brush to get rid of that little double-line around shoulders, which looks like the hallmark of lots of sharpening; and maybe tone down the white just a bit on the right side of face, as it is much brighter than on the left. |

Goat405by David EyComment: David,
Your goat shots are great! I particularly like the vivid colors in this one. Just a question - why does he have a bag over his nose? |

Darraghby BrookiedComment: Welcome to Team Suck!
I really like the soft lighting (looks like natural source - guessing a window) and shadows on face. The expression is faintly impish and captured well by the eyes looking back toward the camera. If I had a suggestion it would be to put the eyes more in the "two-thirds" position, as the balance feels a bit off. A bit more definition between pupils and irises might also help bring out character. All in all, I think this would have scored pretty well. I assume this is your son? Adorable. |

Christina by grigrigirlComment: This may be the best wedding photo I've ever seen outside of a magazine, and it is as good / better than the majority of those. The emotive is absolutely beautiful, and the interplay of shadows and lines is wonderful. 10. |

Monument Valleyby ursulaComment: The sense of relative size captured by this photo is remarkable, as is the sharpness/clarity. This is one of a small handful of 10's. Wonderful work. |

What's Left Of Meby posthumousComment: Hi Don,
Like this a lot. Gave it a 7 while voting. The tritone finish makes it refreshingly different, and the curves give a great sense of motion.
BTW - what's that about a crappy score, hmmmmm? Anything above a 6 is a great score, in my book! What you complaining about, boy? |
