Farmer48by liltritterComment: This is an intriguing image. The expression on the boy's face and the angle really make this shot. What probably hurt you scorewise is that the background is lighter than the subject. Not much you could do about that in basic editing, of course. Nicely seen, a definite keeper! |

Primitiveby NitinComment: The concept is excellent here, as is the composition. Not sure the white bucket adds anything, though. Looks too modern for the rest of the photo. |

Pureby philupComment: Very pretty, but looks so airbrushed to me. The background is a great choice, however. |

gardengoyleby posthumousComment: Don, I did not vote in this challenge, but I recall this photo from viewing the entries. And I must say it is gripping. Nearly astounding. It has the kind of emotive and movement that is very rarely captured. I would have given you a 9, only because the Chase emblem is an unfortunate distraction. Into faves. Very, very well seen. |

Vintage Collectionby LaMasComment: I like the concept, textures and lighting a lot! I wish that black cork were just a wee bit further down - maybe swapped out with the Vintner's collection cork - think that would strengthen the composition. Great entry for shapes! |

All the Kings Menby jackal9Comment: Jackal, there are some real strengths in this photo - I remember thinking the luminosity of those chess pieces had a lot of potential when I voted on it. The DOF is great, as are the lines. What I think would be very cool would be to shoot this on a light table (just some lights under a piece of glass supported by a pair of sawhorses would work fine) so that the light is absorbed up through these beautiful pieces. Of course, that might not work with the chess board - don't know what it is made of. |

Brokenby krnodilComment: A most interesting photo, one that I kept coming back to in the shapes challenge. I think the lighting and textures are very, very well done. The shadow across the top probably took a point off your score - DPC voters are very picky. Mostly I will say "very well seen." A photo I wish I had taken. |

Bubbles !by kashiComment: Lea, this is very cute. The even lighting and composition are very strong here. The skin tones look a little washed out on my monitor. I think the thing that probably really hurt you scorewise was the primary bubble right under his chin - if it were in sharp focus and the tones in the photo just a little richer, this would be a potential ribbon winner. I think this would be a great addition to your portfolio if you cloned the big bubble out altogether (realize you couldn't do that for the challenge, of course.) You really are very, very strong with portraits. |

A Roll in the Hayby HipychikComment: I like the textures and concept of this a lot. What hurt you, I think, is the lighting and composition, but you probably already know that, as we've seen some beautiful work from you :-) A warming filter and some added brightness to pop the textures would be coool here. |
