Interesting colors. The vase is a little underexposed. Darkening more would create a silhouette which would be nice. A little lighter and it would show more detail. I would move the horizon line up so that it is above the flowers and vase. The way it is now it "cuts" the vase.

The pronounced shadow is a nice touch.

The composition works well.

A shallower depth of field would help make the background more effective.

The challenge:
Not really contr-jour. The shadow is falling to the right which means that the main source of light (the sun) is to the left. (Out of the frame). Now if the shadow was to fall towards you...

Interesting capture. Good colors that are well saturated. I like the bits of cloud in the sky. The composition could be a bit better. I would like to the horizon a little lower for starters. Its placed using the rule of thirds but the real interest comes from the orange in the sky. If the middle of the orange band was dropped to where the horizon is right now, it would create a lot more "pop". I'm not sure if the tree could be place off center or not but that would also help.

Interesting colors in this shot. The border is far too large and takes away the
"canvas" that is available for the picture.

Not really focused well. Exposure is a little strange (perhaps it appears so do the focus issues)

Composition is okay. Nothing extraordinary beyond what the florist did in creating the arrangement to begin with.

The challenge: Meets the challenge? Sort of. I don't get a feeling of stillness in this shot however that again may be due to the focus issues. My eye wanders around the frame trying to find something that is in focus thus creating an "agitated" feeling.
