A Vietnamese Hat in a Norwegian Atticby raishComment: I gave this a 7 because I like the rich browns, the pattern of the cross and the "button" in the center. I think it needs to be rotated ever so slightly counter-clockwise, perhaps .5 degrees. That bothers me. Also I agree with Bob that the door is a problem. I don't mind the recessed area and shadow, but the door handle spoils the simplicity of the composition. |

PrismaBurstby rexComment: Congratulations on a very good finish and a new personal best. I think this is an excellent composition. Good thing you entered. |

New Years Las Vegas 2007by seeComment: Good shot. I gave it an 8, I think because of the top being out of the frame. Actually the crop seems too tight all the way around. What I love about it is the way you captured the feathery effect caused by the wind. |

The Day After - Spent and forgottenby MelethiaComment: Melethis, I'm sorry, I didn't score this very high. I'm afraid it brought that dreadful dead cat photo immediately to my mind, and I was instantly turned off. Not your fault, my dear. It's well done and a good OOB entry. |

Fire Works Magicby xianartComment: I like your OOBie approach to this challenge -- using the literal definition for "fire". The score is quite decent for an OOB shot too.
I like the shot and gave it a 7 for the brilliant colors. I'm not fond of the composition of the shot though. Not sure why, maybe too horizontal. I don't think it needs the sparkly noise, but I don't mind it.
This reminds me of some of those Icelandic sky shots. It might be fun to play with it in Expert Editing mode -- using the flames for the sky of some landscape. |

IMG_ForestForTrees.jpgby noranekoComment: I was out shooting today, and took some nature shots with no focal point. And I was thinking about all the comments I would get about that if I posted them on DPC. I was wondering why that is so important for a good image. I decided it isn't important for a good image, but probably is for a great one.
I like this shot. I love the pattern created by the trees, and I really like the soft greens. The branches seem to be wrapped in a giant group hug. It's the sort of image that I can spend a lot of time with. It is relaxing, uplifting, and allows me lots of room to think for myself. I think it would be very nice in a giant size on a large wall. |

Centered Peaceby woodeneweComment: It's hard to tell from such a small image, but the fucus looks too soft. Really can't even see any of the detail. |
