Solitaryby PhotologistComment: Well that hard work paid off nicely. Good score and good placement. It's so simple, and the light and shadows are so nice. Good use for selective desat, and the rule of thirds really works.
P.S. I find that every time I set up a shot in a public space, especially if I'm using a tripod, the people just seem to drift into the shot. They try to look like they haven't noticed me, but I know they just want their moment of fame. |

Imposingby krnodilComment: Karen, I like this image. I like the textures and the large blocks it forms. I think the selective desat works very nicely in an almost abstract way. Now that the challenge is over, I think you could have some fun with it by cropping the top down to eliminate all the sky (square aspect ratio) and then putting a gradient map adjustment layer on it. Try all sorts of combinations of colors in the gradient. I think you'll get some really cool abstract images. |

Lazy Dazeby michael_pComment: What a lovely little girl. I really like the b&w conversion. The orchids are beautiful too. Nice entry. Too bad she didn't end up in your top row. It would have been fun to have here there on your profile page. |

Reachingby KelliComment: I think the three comments you got during voting were very valid, and summed up the shot quite well. The first one praised it, as it deserves. The second one pointed out a minor problem with the desat. And the third one pointed out the over-sharpening, which I think is the most significant problem.
I love the lily, and I think the b&w conversion is excellent. I love the way the pistils and stamen (if those are the correct terms) pop right out of the image. I noticed the haloing, and thought 'too bad, you didn't catch that', because it is easy to fix with Advanced Rules. |

The Eyes Winby griz210Comment: I would like to have seen you go all the way to white on her face, in true high key fashion. However it is a really good shot with lots of possibilities, and I think it should have scored higher. |
