Beautiful Eyesby griz210Comment: Lovely portrait, Dave. Is this the same girl as the one with the rose? She is so pretty and lighting and pose are so flattering. I think this deserved a much higher score, but all the commenters seem to agree that the focus on the eyes isn't quite sharp enough. It's amazing what a difference tack sharp eyes make. |

Portrait of a Girlby KelliComment: I think this was a good capture, and you achieved your goal of bring out the adult aspect of the girl.
I don't care for the processing. The hair looks glued together rather than soft and wispy as I imagine it really was. The contrast on the lips is very harsh (little detail of the mouth is visible) and the edges seem over sharpened. I also don't see any detail in the iris of her eyes. Maybe this is due to excessive noise reduction.
I'd like to see the original. I'll bet there are all sorts of good things you could do with it. |

Playing With The Windby WildcardComment: Marvelous shot. Such life! I really like the light and colors. The background is a little distracting to me. The far shore cuts straight across the image. I don't know what to suggest except to crop it just below the shoreline and make it a landscape orientation. Message edited by author 2007-06-08 11:16:51. |

A Beater of Whipped Creamby kashiComment: I like the shot and the processing a lot. The beater is a little hard to make out. I don't know if there would be any way to make it more distinct while leaving the face as it is. Keep working on this high key technique. I think it can be very effective. |

Music Lessonby BAMartinComment: Very nice. I wondered where you got the costumes and the setup. This reminds me of a Norman Rockwell illustration. |

Summoning the sunriseby purpleflutterby13Comment: Good job! I love the circle of fire and the way it is broken into semicircles. I like the blurred spiral made by the hand and the blurred model. It looks very Native American. It is an odd juxtaposition with the modern city in the background. Beautiful colors too. |

The Warriorby noranekoComment: Catherine, you are really on a roll these days. This is gorgeous, and well appreciated by the voters. It seems a bit risky, having all those horizontal lines cutting all the way across the image, but I think the mast and rigging connecting the foreground with the sky/background definitely helps with that problem.
Another observation -- you provoked a lot of thoughtful comments -- not just the usual: "nice", "love it", "cool" type comments that are so prevalent. |

A New Budby bmartuchComment: Really don't know why this didn't score better. It's a lovely shot. Love the colors and the focus. I'm wondering if it's a "double" or a reflection. Doesn't matter because it's good either way. |

The Serious Walk Backby jaysonmcComment: He is so cute -- looks very self-confident. I love the way he is looking straight into the camera, but isn't putting on a "camera face". The focus seems a little soft. |
