Reachby MelethiaComment: Congratulations on the OOBIE! Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. The PP is inspired. Only you, Deb, could have found the beauty in that sorry dead weed. |

Take Out #2by JerseyGenieComment: Very nicely done. I particularly like your composition. I think it could use a little more light, but then it might blow out the detail on the rice. Congratulations on another BP. You're really on a roll. |

A Bug's Lifeby levyj413Comment: Jeffrey, the SC must have gotten their inspiration for the current challenge "From the Ground Up" from this shot.
Very well done. You have given us a good image and a good laugh too. Thanks. I like the rotation of the shot, with the crown molding on the diagonals. |

T i M B e R by sherpetComment: Oh boy, you did it!!! You finally got a ribbon. Something you have been deserving for a very long time. Congratulation, Shez, I'm so happy for you. :)))
And BTW, I love the photo. Message edited by author 2012-06-09 12:44:46. |

incomingby skewsmeComment: I was very interested by your comments about the pp trying to mimic the 3-D children's books. I work on a laptop, and when I tilt the screen back (typically darkens the screen) the people and ball actually do seem to come right out of the picture. They brighten while the background darkens.
I haven't read the rest of the comments here, but I suspect your score was hurt by DNMC votes, since it is very atypical for a portrait. I think the image is very lively and a good shot. |

Bad Girlsby NikonJebComment: I really like your b&w conversion, and the use of b&w for this subject seems very appropriate: a gray life of the graying women. What I love to see is that, except for the front woman, they all look so normal, bright eyed, and happy. I'm glad the voters appreciated it as it deserved. |
