I see a long life and one child ;) The halo is distracting for me. Often when I use a strong gausian blur on a background, I go around the outer edge of the subject with the clone tool.

This is so interesting. As with most pixilated art (newspaper images, pointillism, etc.), it's easier to see the picture in a smaller format. The face is quite clear in the thumbnail, and very obscure in the larger version. It's a wonderful shot. Congratulations on the high score and placement. I'm glad people appreciated it.
