rattling leafby annigComment: It's an odd collection of things for a grave site. Very interesting and sad. I like the pink light with the pink flowers. It may just be my monitor, but this looks like it needs a little Levels adjustment -- it seems like there is a slight haze over the image. |

First Lightby whiterookComment: This doesn't appear soft to me. It actually appears somewhat over-sharpened with the white outlines around the bird and branches/roots. |

Statio IVby ocelotComment: Too bad about the bobbie pins. They kill the period aspect conveyed by the crown of thorns. |

Tulipby NikonJebComment: This is lovely, but looks very sharp for a soft focus challenge. |

Careby narcisaComment: It would be good to have the model clean the fingernails before a shoot involving a closeup of a hand. Details like that can make a huge difference in the quality and appeal of the image. The kitten is adorable and the soft focus is nice. Perhaps if you did a close crop on the kitten, removing the hand all together, this would be better. |

Though Lovers be lost, Love shall not; And Death shall have no dominionby CNovackComment: I have really enjoyed reading the notes on this BRILLIANT photograph. It is truly a masterpiece. All the careful work you did really paid off. I think many of the details, such as the rings surrounding the names were lost on the quick voters.
As for the comparison to Konador's original, I think you took a good idea and really ran with it. Besides giving meaning to the heart shadow, you have made many other significant improvements. I like the softer contrast for illustrating love, I think the softer, heart-shaped general lighting is better, and of course the printed pages give a purpose to the whole image.
I hope you have found other audiences for this. You have inspired me to put more effort into my work. Thank you.
