Real slice of life. This picture has so much information in it: the books in the background, the glasses on the kid, the cover on the sofa, the relaxed atmosphere, the trust between the cat and the child. You can even tell the cat is purring by the look on its face and the tension in its paw. I really like the sepia tone.

My first impression was, "whoa, too much noise reduction." But when I look at the camera exif data, I don't understand why there would have been any noise. So I don't understand why she looks so plastic. I think she is a very cute girl, and you captured a nice candid, but something didn't work out in the processing.

Looks like a muddy yard rather than a street. Also there isn't much going on. That makes it hard to connect this image with the challenge topic. However, I like the image -- the composition, the light, the texture, and the b&w conversion.

Getting their stories straight

There are a lot of things I like about this image. First of all, I love the colors of the boys jackets echoing the colors in the trees. Second, I like the grouping of the boys v.s. the men. And third I like the happy interaction between the members of each group. The whole image: colors, sunny day, social interaction, all add up to a very happy and cheerful scene. It makes me smile.

I really like the composition and the yellow duotone. And the clarity/focus is lovely. Nothing seems to be going on here, so it seems more like a landscape than street photography. Still it is a very nice image.
