This is a Snowy Egret ... identifying feature is the yellow foot on the black leg. Hard to capture the feather detail on white birds, and you didn't quite succeed here. Underexposing a little will help with that problem. You can always boost the exposure on the rest of the image in post processing.

Beautiful little boy. I like this shallow DOF with the tack sharp eyes. Rather odd to see a kid with that much chocolate on his face and not smile. That's what makes this rather special to me.
