New Shootsby jacqui_513Comment: Subject is appropriate. Lighting is a bit harsh and it looks like what is in front of the in-focus leaf is actually a shoot, so I'm not sure the DOF and focus were quite right if you were trying to make me see shoots. |

New Toe Shoesby vtruanComment: Ow. I don't think I could do that if you paid me! The shoes look a little scuffed and dirty; detracts a bit from the "new" impression. |

Stanley's First Autumnby GolferDDSComment: Cute idea but the shot feels awfully busy to me. I would have cut down the color palette by using just the pumpkins and leaves, I think. |

New Soil Fallingby pointandshootComment: Hmmm. Another one where I haven't had enough coffee to follow along. The shot itself is pretty cool but I'm not sure I get the concept of soil falling. The little plant appearing to be in front of dead/dying plants does give me a "new life" kind of impression. |

New Low for Lake Meadby bjh0705Comment: Wow, that's pretty dramatically low. Pic is a teensy bit bright on my monitor but your point is very well illustrated nonetheless. |

My New Converter - .5xby MihirCComment: Congrats on the new toy. The tones on this seem a bit too light; I would also suggest cropping tighter on the left to get rid of the strap and maybe use a background without two competing patterns. |

YUM!! A New Bag of Chips by brad177Comment: Subject is fine and in focus, but I see a few things that might improve this. One is to soften the flash or bounce it so you don't get the harsh reflections on the bag. Another would be to brush away those distracting crumbs on the right from the last bag of chips someone ate. And finally the bag is not positioned so that the red and black in the background enhance it. The easiest thing would be to shoot against a solid black background but you could try to get some sort of pattern in the background that complemented the bag. |

a new morning by ursulaComment: Pretty place in that light and lovely colors in the sky. I kind of want a little more contrast to really pull out the sun's rays. |
