sadness in disguiseby guakoComment: Post-performance where people threw wet things at you and made your makeup run? Seriously, the model's expression works but the makeup isn't just runny under the eye, it's also blurred above it ... I think the story would have worked better for me if the makeup out of tear range were still intact. Still a good entry. |

Happy Clownsby DandudeComment: OK, colorful, cheerful, could use a bit more light on the curly-headed one's face, although this is generally well-lit. |

See Meby emily212Comment: Not quite sure what story you're telling here. Image is almost but not quite high key, and makeup is distractingly blotchy. If you were going for "seeing the person in the clown face" I think the makeup should have been done well, so my eye was immediately drawn to the model's eye instead of the makeup. |

Clown Head by Ewigby pointandshootComment: I can see where it's clown-like but it's not quite enough to make this a pleasing image to me, and as a shot of graffiti and some brush it doesn't quite grab me, either. Nice try, though. |

Happy The Clownby TransitComment: Now I see why some people are afraid of clowns :::shudder::: I might like to see him (in an image, mind you, not in person) with a stark black background or at least less light in back, given his demeanor and makeup. |

Bozo and His Jawbreaker Bellyby sk8t969Comment: Interesting idea to highlight the kid art. The non-kid stuff is rather distracting; I would have cropped out the stuff on the shelf (or removed it before shooting) and moved the wires out of the shot. Selective desat does draw my eye to the clown but the picture is still very, very busy. |

The Jokerby LalliSigComment: So, not the funny kind of joker, right (j/k)? Dark and broody, no catchlights to humanize the eyes and the mouth looks particularly unpleasant. Good job. |

Kikiby JeniYComment: Ah, the ever-popular balloon animal trick! Good idea for this challenge. The image is quite astoundingly colorful; EVERYTHING clashes. Quite appropriate for a clown. |

Sourpuss by loveComment: Interesting perspective and good DOF for this shot. I do like the model's expression and the curly "hair." Whites look a little blown out on my screen but I don't find that too much of a distraction. |

The Clowns Jewels!by hicksComment: Cute idea and punny title. The lighting is a little awkward to me, because I can't tell whether you wanted the shadow or not. I think I would angle the light so the shadow fell on more of a diagonal if I wanted to keep it, or use fill flash from the side if I wanted to make it go away. |
