There must be LIFE here somewhere?by glenncComment: Much detritus of human life and some hardy vegetation. It feels very busy and I'm not sure if the point is that people are inconsiderate of the environment or that some plants can grow in unfriendly places or something else entirely. |

Till Death Do Us Apartby hlinnetComment: Well, that's depressing :-( A bit dark, but that's appropriate for the subject. I think I'd like it better if I couldn't see houses in the background, maybe a closer crop and/or slightly different angle? It would look more lonely that way. |

Berry...by mbrutus2009Comment: I like the shallow DOF and lighting. Colors are a little oversaturated on my screen; I think I'd bring the greens down a bit, if not the whole thing. There is a dark halo around the berry which I've noticed on some of my shots when I have bright red against bright green. It almost looks like it was outlined. I might try some judicious cloning to get rid of it. |

My life is just beginning!by tamatamaComment: Aw, cute little toddler! The softness on her feet reminds me of the unsteadiness of kids at that stage, who aren't always quite sure where their feet are. Not sure I like the green and yellow object being there as I keep looking to see what it is. I think I might have cloned it out of existence ;-) |

Sun Dancersby SchmeldontinoComment: The lady, in particular, looks joyful with that swirling skirt and hair and big smile. Her partner looks less involved in the dancing. Image is very contrasty; not sure if I like that as much as a softer light. |

It's a Cat's Lifeby ivale28Comment: Pretty kitty who looks well cared for, if a bit annoyed with those narrowed eyes. I would crop much tighter and get the eyes on a rule of thirds, and then clean up the wetness under the eye and the light reflection on the left pupil. There isn't much of a catchlight in the eyes so if the cat was cooperative I'd move a light around to try and get a nice catchlight. It adds a great deal of life (so to speak) to a pet portrait. |

Peteby LonniComment: Nice portrait; light looks very soft and natural. I might have cropped tighter on the bottom to get rid of the shirt design and more importantly get his eyes close to (or on) a rule of thirds line. The image feels more powerful to me cropped that way. |
