Looks more like Tall Ironweed to me, but I'm not an expert. Grows wild around here and one of my more favorite weeds to photograph :-) You've captured its shape nicely.

What a lovely iris! Great DOF and detail and the darkness is a wonderful foil for the delicate yellow of the bloom. You can send some my way (I bet they'd even grow since I'm in VA). They'll look nice with my purple Dutch irises :-)

Came out looking very dramatic, and the water drop looks a lot like a tear. Very nice job on the processing; I would never have guessed you completely changed the background!

I think the poses in this one lead me to view it more emotively than the challenge entry. I find this one a wee bit more interesting, though the spread wings with the light coming through them were pretty spectacular, visually. Here I I love the poses and the light and shadows on the bird in flight making him very 3-dimensional. I doubt I would have rated this any lower than the challenge entry for technical reasons, especially not in an Animals in Motion challenge!
