Windows to the Soulby ChilibeanComment: Magnificent eyes (both genetically and photographically speaking). i like the tight crop and the model's expression. The blacks in the rest of the photo seem to lack the same depth as those in her eyes...a little judicious use of the burn tool on the shadows might even it out a little. overall a very nice entry.

Michelle Senior Portrait Toned Versionby kirbicComment: this looks very similar to the quad that i usually use...not sure if it's just me/my monitor but it has a slight lavender cast to the skin. Ken Lee authored a couple of quads - one of which has a lavender bent to it - that looks a lot like this. i find it better for inanimates, and tend to go with a more earthy tone for faces.
very unusual to hear me say this, but i'm with you - I prefer the colour; it seems richer and more full of life.
for whatever it's worth, that's my opinion :)

Blank Generationby surfinbirdComment: the lighting and pose are among the best in the challenge. love it. i think this type of image calls for a sharper focus, but still fantastic.

Innocenceby DigiFotoBuddyComment: on my. freaking adorable. her hair is sharper than her face, but on that punkin it doesn't matter :) |

Bright Eyesby jpochardComment: my goodness is that adorable. the blue in the eyes looks a little overdone, but the pose and the crop are very nice. |

Smirkyby jenesisComment: sigh. love it. beautiful DOF and sharpness in all the right places. and that smirk could melt the coldest of hearts. From a DP perspective may take a bit of abuse because of the subtle duotone, but this is what we've come to expect from this place on occasion :) |

Ashamedby jeroweComment: the lighting on her face looks a little flat, which I'm guessing comes from trying to minimize some blown highlights - especially on her forehead.
great pose, nice crop, good choice of orientation. the muslin background takes away from the candid feel of this...a solid or more natural background might add to the emotional impact - but that's just an opinion; doesn't affect my score. |

Faultless by jaxedComment: one of my top picks so far. brilliant lighting, great detail, and the DOF accentuates the model beautifully. I don't even mind the minor blowout in the sweater. Top shelf entry. |
