Power Strikeby Foolish IceComment: Oh come on, this deserved better! I can't stand it when nice images get dumped in the 5.5 range while not-so-good images get great scores. Oh well. :) |

Star Powerby jdannelsComment: Well, it made it to top twenty at least... I still think it belongs on the top ten! :) |

Power in these pewsby hotrollComment: Well, here's my two cents. :)
My first impression of the image was that it was out of focus. It's not really; but the arm of the closest pew is out of focus, and since it's a large and dominates much of the shot, it kind of messed up my whole initial reaction of the photo. Either cropping that first pew arm out might have helped, or if possible, a less shallow depth of field would have fixed that while you actually taking the photo.
Also, it looks really grainy! If it's possible, I would suggest lowering the ISO on your camera. Getting rid of the grain will also make the photo appear in better focus.
And last, the composition. It's really kind of confusing. Instead of leading my eye to a particular point, my eye akwardly wanders all over the place. For this particular shot, I would suggest choosing a whole different angle for the shot.
I hope this was helpful! :) |

Supermanby ChinabunComment: A neat capture! Some of the background elements are a little distracting - it would be nice if they weren't there. Perhaps you weren't in a situation where you were able to do that though. But I like the way this image portrays power - well done. |

Devastationby GraineyComment: This is a very neat picture, but it looks a little washed out - the clouds are slightly over-exposed. Perhaps if that could be fixed, the shot might have looked better. But otherwise, neat idea! :) |

Oneby WillSnapsComment: I really like the idea here, with the single light source. However, it creates some very strange shadows across the fist, so it's hard to make out exactly what it is. Also, either the quality isn't very good, or it might even be slightly out of focus... I can't quite tell, but the details are not very strong. But very neat idea! |

Power To Haulby docvorhiesComment: Although technically good - the focus is perfectly fine - this image doesn't really give very much impact. Perhaps shooting from an even more dramatic angle might have created a more interesting shot? Good try though! |

Brooklyn Bridgeby meehljdComment: Very cool! I love the precision of your composition, and all the lines of architecture. I might suggest adding a little more contrast though, and perhaps even cropping out the heads of the people below, since they are a little distracting IMO. I also wonder how this would look in black and white...? but very nice shot! :) |

A developing nation - The New and The Oldby kelvinyamComment: Well, it isn't very interesting... although I can understand it would be difficult to photograph this subject in such a way that it gives impact. Perhaps trying some different, unusual angles might have helped out? It is however, a nice clear shot, with good composition. :) |

See Me Float Jewelsby jovarghComment: I'm not really sure what I'm looking at here, and I'm even more confused as to how this fits the challenge... but the textures and colors are beautiful! If there had been anyway to get rid of the (reflection?) of the camera, that would definitely help the image, and also, I would suggest cropping out the yellowish bar on top of the "jewel" things. They're a little distracting. But good try! :) |
