From the thumb, I thought it was going to be an orchid. When I clicked it open I got that wonderful moment of discovery, the little aha, when the colors & shapes resolved into a tulip. So thanks! The light inside the tulip is wonderful. The moment of discovery turned into a little moment of peace & meditation. Thanks again!

This is a gorgeous shot, with that clear bright cool light. Beautiful Star Magnolia. Did you know..."Magnolia is an ancient genus. Having evolved before bees appeared, the flowers developed to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. Fossilised specimens of Magnolia acuminata have been found dating to 20 million years ago, and of plants identifiably belonging to the Magnoliaceae dating to 95 million years ago." WOW! I looked it up! I love the glimpse in the shadows below of the fuzzy whatever-it-is that covers the bud before it opens. Well done!
