poppyby skewsmeComment: Great emotional impact in the petals created by the saturated red, no loss of symmetry in that dancing circle. This must've been quite a sight to see. Fav, just because I want to look at it again & again. |

Feur de Lis by pmichaudComment: The bud in front is a nice touch, the way you lined it up. I like the soft easy light & the flat, graphic look of this. Makes me wonder what lens, what settings, etc. And the water drops. Easy fav. |

Delicate Balanceby MonkeyShrikeComment: Instant fav! My favorite orchid , & you've made a lovely asymmetrical comp without loosing the wonderful orchid symmetrical balance. Beautiful light, also. WTG! |

Triadby mefnjComment: Instant fav! You took full advantage of the natural visual elements of this pretty Iris & made a really nice abstract that would look good hanging on the wall. Looks like natural light, or at least slightly directional light. WTG! |

better daysby jagarComment: Thank you! Gazing at this, I realized a new understanding of street photography (for me). Not photography that happens to happen in the streets, but a photographer using the street like a studio. Then I wondered if maybe the early street photographers took to the streets because they didn't have a studio. The streets would be far more interesting than a studio, for a photographer who had a choice. Maybe it was the 'thinking man' in your shot that caused all this unusual early-morning brain activity for me "D as he's clearly pondering the dog, who seems to have a better life (indoors, waiting for a treat). Anyway, thanks again for this fine story-creating shot. Message edited by author 2012-05-20 08:31:41. |

fluffy's off the chainby daisydavidComment: Oh poop! Well I suppose a cement patch is the next best thing. I'm trying to think of a word for "ordinarily overlooked but spotted with a photographer's eye." Good catch? |
