Christmas breakup.by jomariComment: This is my opinion only, but for me there are 2 kinds of panning. One is where you rotate the camera around the axis of its focal plane, like you would have to do if it was attached to a tripod. The other kind of panning is where the axis of rotation is outside the camera, like you would do if you move the camera at the end of your arm. This is the one that creates interesting distortions, at least for me. I'm sure there are nifty techie words for this, but I don't have them. I'm experimenting now with combining the 2 kinds of panning in one shot, also with rotating the camera in other ways, because I like the distortions. Thank goodness I don't have to pay for processing!
Another interesting challenge is created when the light changes quite a bit from one end to the other of the pano, like it does in this one.
Anyway...this is a nice one, a memento for anyone present at the occasion. This might be the only photo that includes everyone in a non-posed, natural situation. Message edited by author 2013-10-06 01:53:43. |

Foto de Concurso para Examenby FerOrtegaComment: It shows right side up in my iPhone but upside down on a Windows PC. A lot of voters saw this upside down. Don't give up. It's an interesting composition. |

Tree by sfaliceComment: Suddenly, gazing at this, I realized. It would be possible to use color matching to make the sky and the fence the same color, just different shades of blue. That would create the storybook illustration impression this ceates in my eyes. I am beginning to see how color matching could be used to do some interesting, non-production things. Art things. Thanks! Also, you might be interested to know that on all the monitors I have to use, the tree leaves to almost to black in many places. |

IMG_1468-row-houses-changed-800by sfaliceComment: Here's what I think: sometimes the photo we think we're taking, of the thing we think is there, is not what's really there. Sometimes a lot of PP is required to reveal the thing that's really there, or also there (who knows?). This PP gives me the idea that maybe those row houses are haunted. IMO the effort of PP was worth it, there's a lot of interesting energy in this one. The color adds to this feeling. Instant fav! |

gumboandgunmetalby jomariComment: Yet another twist on the flip'n'blend--Yay! I like the effect of using the same comp & finding multiple color variations. Fun to look at. |
