At first I didn't get the areas of flat color, so I missed the almost-symmetry. After a while, I saw the gate. And then I found the other little bits of reality. Then the flat colors looked fine. I'm more & more entertained by what looks like symmetry but isn't. Symmetry of form & motion, but not detail. So now I love it. Good work.

At first I thought 'very cautious, slight distortion.' Then, I noticed the black halo & the borders & I thought 'oh it's just the BG that's been distorted into a creamy blur of color.' Interesting approach. I think it works.
