This one popped up first in my voting today. Given that I was standing right with you when you took it, I will not vote and will move on. I do like this one though and hope it's scoring well. :)

Well, I certainly would not have identified that as Tim Robbins if you had not said it.

What a lovely room. I like the sort of frame within a frame look, excellent composition.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

Interesting take on this challenge. Technically the shot is well composed, lighting is good, it's in focus etc, so all good from that point of view.

I believe the primary reason it did not score higher was down to the inclusion of the computer monitor in the background. I personally am struggling with the relevance of this as in my opinion it spoils what is quite a good image.

I'm afraid I gave it a fairly low score, due to the background. Would have been considerably higher without the computer there.

I am sorry that this image did not score a bit higher for you in the miniature challenge. I personally thought it met the challenge topic very well.

From a technical point of view, the mini tea pot is quite out of focus which I do not think is very helpful when trying to score high in these challenges. Other things that have likely contributed to a lower score are the background and the border.

It was mentioned already in the comments made during the challenge that the background was somewhat distracting, and I do have to agree with this. A plain background would likely have worked much better.

Then we come to the border. I have observed that heavy borders such as the one you have used here, hurt rather than help scores here on DPC. Typically a border should enhance the overall image presentation and in this case, I do not really believe it does. Something a little less in your face may have worked better.

At the end of the day, I still gave this a 6 as I felt the subject worked well in this challenge. A better focus would undoubtedly have increased my score.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Well, it's me again Susan! I guess there are not so many people doing critiques at the moment which is why you seem to keep getting me.

When reading your notes about this shot, I'm afraid I have to say, there's nothing obvious, to me at least, that you are mocking Angelina Jolie. I don't follow Hollywood celebrity gossip in any way, shape or form, so definitely did not resonate with me. Therefore, from my perspective there was a very tenuous connection to the challenge.

From a technical point of view, the image seems out of focus to me, well, in any case, very soft. The lighting, as mentioned below, is also quite flat, a boost with levels would have sorted this out for you. (I stand by what I said in my pm, if you want a bit of basic PS help let me know).

Unfortunately the composition is a bit too centered for my taste and the background is a bit too busy. In fact the background seems more in focus than you and Sally. (I appreciate that this is really difficult to take a self portrait - really I do).

I do think that the idea was really creative (even if I didn't get the meaning!), and a few small changes in your set up would surely have given you a higher score.
