I think this is a wonderful image. Yes, she is looking at you, but it's still a lovely image. Would it have been better if you had not been spotted? Hard to say. It would have been different for sure, but not necessarily better. I like this very much as it is.

BTW, your B&W conversion is really fabulous.

Hard for me to critique this one as you have received quite in depth comments already. This is a lovely image and fits the challenge well. I think you could have improved your score with a few minor changes. A few have been mentioned already, such as cropping out the foreground. I'm also not convinced about the border the horizontal lines don't work for me at least.

Normally a 6+ score would give you a higher placement, but I think this was quite a strong challenge with some quite high scores. Still not too shabby and a nice addition to your front page.

I suspect based on your comments that you were a little disappointed with the score as it fell below your hopes. I think you probably also know why this may have scored lower than you hoped.

In my personal opinion, I do think it is perhaps not minimal enough to succeed in this specific challenge. It's odd, but I think the wonderful detail in the sky pushes out of minimalist landscape zone. Maybe just my opinion, but I suppose a few others must have thought so too, or I feel you would surely have scored much much higher. This is a wonderful sunset shot and I am envious that you were able to capture it.

I haven't got any smart suggestions for you on how to make it better, it doesn't need making better :) It is certainly a very lovely image, but just falls short in the minimalist category.
