Into The Great Beyondby JeniYComment: I like the strong lines and the nice framing on the side. Maybe too much white space in the sky, the would be the only minor thing I could suggest. Good work. |

Santa's Little Helperby KaliComment: Beautiful eyes. The soft effect kind of reminds me of old wedding albums of the 70s/80s. Not sure if that is a good thing. I think the exposure is terrific. Curious what this would look straight out of the camera without the vignette. Adorable child and a picture to remember. |

TO GRANDMOTHERS HOUSE WE GOby riderComment: Why is there a bench in the bridge? That is the thing that interests me. I think maybe getting a bit closer and emphasizing that would be cool. RIght now it is is a standard old red bridge picture. In itself it is good, but if you are going to do the ordinary on DPC, they usually expect it as the over-the-top style. Personally, I find the shot good. I gave it a 5 in the challenge, so above the average... |

gimmeby AliciaComment: Here are the things I like. I really like the lines. I like the contrast. And I like the exposure. Those things are key. I think you just missed the focus a bit as it is on the front post. I also think if there was something in the fingers it would have helped. Still I like the lines a lot. |

Winter Wonderlandby KarenNfldComment: I think a normal shot could easily score well, I don't think it needs to be HDR for DPC necessarily. I really enjoy most of your shots and this one included. I really like the shadows and details. The exposure is spot on too. I think this one might have been better with a different focal length. Curious what you shot this at, 35mm?
What I might suggest for the same scene is get close and use a very wide angle to really give a sense of scale to that tree of the right and distance overall. Or go longer (200mm) and back up to a distance where the same scene is laid out above, but now you will a more compress feeling. Right now I feel the image is too clumped together as far as eye movement. But your mileage may vary.
Just my two cents. I enjoyed the picture and I gave you a 6 during the challenge. |

Fishing at Twilightby EstimatedEyesComment: The blur is terrific. Even if you would have gotten it sharp, difficult for the DPC crowd. My only suggestion would maybe to crop just a bit off the right and to increase the contrast. Even without that, the shot is stunning and considering the conditions even more rewarding. |
