Readingby Bruce_the_RobertComment: The lighting is terrific and the simple placement of items in the frame really creates a nice closeness to the subject. |

Valley Steelby bmartuchComment: I thought you were using this for warm? Standout as far as old architecture and form. |

Looking for Loveby JuliBocComment: Wonderful coloring in the bird. I think if you could have gotten rid of that bright spot above the birds head, it might have helped in the score. Though I am not certain how you do that in post. That iridescent lighting/coloring on that neck is amazing. |

Serenityby ChinabunComment: This is a subjectless landscape. Not all images have to have a subject to make it good. However, making a convincing image without a focal point is more difficult. Without a central subject, it is important to have eye movement in the frame, whether this is from leading lines, use of triangles, repeating patterns or other techniques depends on the image at hand, but it is essential, otherwise the viewer's eye just gets lost in the frame.
In you example, you'll notice how on both sides of the green field there are trees, almost creating a valley. A better picture in this case would have been looking down through the green grass with the tress on both side, pulling the viewer through the frame.
You might want to check out this challenge below, which was to shoot an image without a subject, there are a lot of good examples in there.
Challenge: Image without Subject
Other than that, the photo has good dynamic weather and interesting terrain. Just a different viewpoint might have worked a bit better. Good luck to you and hope to see more photos in the future. |

The passion of rock climbingby keibo84Comment: Love the lines and composition. I think the contrast is good where the trees are as it works well with silhouettes, but maybe a bit to strong elsewhere in the frame. Just tone down the contrast a bit and maybe lighten just a tad and you would have had a stunner. I do like the setup, the perspective is refreshing. |

Carnivalby noranekoComment: Spot on detail. My favorite part is the perfect timing (strange I know to say about floral photography). A great moment that is rarely captured. Cool stuff. Glad it did well for you. |
